Dr-MukakaDr Mavuto Mukaka


Dr Mukaka is a biostatistician with broad research interests in applied statistics that include methods of handling missing data across health research disciplines; and design and analysis of Cluster Randomized Trials. Recently, his research is on study power comparisons of sample size methods for Cluster Randomized controlled Trials with varying cluster sizes. He possess statistical skills and experience that applies to a variety of medical research areas. Dr Mukaka has considerable teaching experience in a wide range of environments.



Augustine Choko


Mr. Augustine Choko is a Research Fellow at Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme. He received his MSc in Epidemiology from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and has since been working on tuberculosis and HIV testing data from large community-based studies in Blantyre, Malawi. After more than 5 years of managing a large study team Augustine was recently (2014) awarded a Training Fellowship in Public Health and Tropical Medicine by the Wellcome Trust, UK. He is now studying towards a PhD in the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Department at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Furthermore, Augustine teaches basic epidemiology and statistics in Dept. of Community Health at the University of Malawi, College of Medicine. He recently (March 2014) presented work on community-based self-testing for HIV at the 21st Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) in Boston, USA. .
